Harv Moore Passes Away

DCRTV is saddened to report the passing of longtime radio personality Harv Moore, a familiar and beloved voice in both Washington and Buffalo radio. Known on the air as The Boy Next Door, Moore spent more than a decade shaping the sound of WPGC during one of the station’s most influential eras. A native of Pelham, New York, Moore arrived at WPGC from Frankfort, Kentucky in March 1963.

In early 1975, Moore left Washington to begin the next chapter of his career, accepting an offer from former WPGC General Manager Bob Howard to do mornings at WYSL. In Buffalo, he quickly became a fixture in morning radio and later helped create the Taylor and Moore Show on WPHD. His humor, warmth, and unmistakable delivery made him a daily companion for generations of listeners in Western New York.

Harv Moore ultimately retired in Buffalo, but his voice and influence never faded. Whether listeners found him on the morning commute in Washington or waking up to him in Buffalo, Moore brought energy, heart, and a genuine connection that defined great radio. He leaves behind a legacy that spans decades and markets, and a place in the memories of those who grew up with him on the dial.
