Veteran White House correspondent Sid Davis, who famously witnessed Lyndon B. Johnson’s swearing-in aboard Air Force One following the assassination of President John F. Kennedy, died October 13 at his home in Bethesda. He was 97. Davis spent more than four decades covering the White House for Westinghouse Broadcasting, NBC News, and later Voice of America, where he served as a senior executive.
